The Clark County Junior Livestock Show is an annual event hosted during the Clark County Fair and Rodeo in Logandale, Nevada. The show is produced by the Clark County Junior Livestock Association (CCJLA).
CCJLA partners with some incredible organizations to mentor youth. To participate in our show you must be active in one of the following organizations:
These organizations provide chapters and clubs in which adults and experienced members can teach you what you need to know to be successful at our show.
At our show we exhibit four species of animal:
You must own the animals you show. Our show includes an auction through which you can sell your animals at the completion of your project. We have lots of people who can help you learn how to purchase a quality animal that is appropriate for our show.
All the animals must be registered and weighed months before the show. This happens for steers in December and for all other species in January.
You are responsible for the care, feeding, and training of your animal(s) from the initial weigh-in until the end of the show in April. There are a lot of resources to assist you with this. It starts with your club or chapter. But there are people who provide free training every week. There are vendors who sell specialized feed and instruments for each species. There are a lot of people with a lot of know-how and we're a pretty friendly crowd. If you need pointers, ask. If you need a ride, ask. If you need vet help, ask.
The rules for the show are available through the link at the top of this page. We have stewards in charge of each species. Their contact information can be found through the the Board Member link at the top of the page.
