We deeply appreciate all the generous people who help to fund our show.
Everyone who purchases an animal at our sale plays an important role in supporting the youth who participate. If you would like to purchase one or more of the animals exhibited at our show, please register your bid(s). Once you have registered as a buyer you can bid in our live auction at the show. If you are unable to attend the auction you can record your bid amount in your registration. Your bid will be recognized during the auction but you may be outbid by live partipants.
All bids are tax deductable for the amount above market value. CCJLA will provide each bidder with a financial statement that can be used in tax preparation.
The price you bid represents your total price. All butcher fees, transport fees, and any other costs are paid by the exhibitor. If you bid $6 on a 300 pound swine, your total cost will be $1800. Your meat will be prepared according to your instructions and personally delivered to your door.
Each species in the sale has weight restrictions. Animals below the minimum weight are not allowed in the show. At the same time, any weight above a species' pay-to limit is not considered in the sale price of that animal. So, for example, a bid of $7 on a 125 pound goat will incur a total of $7 x 115 pounds. The weight limits are as follows:
It typically costs a youth a significant amount of money to purchase, feed, and care for their animal. We hope that you will be generous in helping each youth make some profit on their months of effort. Feel free to ask an exhibitor what their costs have been for their project.
